Fire Department Training Night #2

Last night, the Morrisville Fire Department did another training on the program room. They did roof ventilation drills and made another access point using an existing window. They did more wall and ceiling drills as well. Below are a few pics of the soon to be disappearing room.

They will be back next week to do more roof training. Stay tuned.... and for all the pictures of last night's training, click on our flickr.com link on the right hand side of this page.

PLEASE NOTE!!!

Rumor around town is that the fire department is using the program room for a controlled burn. This is JUST a RUMOR!!!! They are using the room to do drills and training in the next few weeks but these drills contain axe practice, ventilating roof practice etc. NO fire will be ignited on the premises of the library.

The Morrisville Fire Department is always looking for places they can train on and being a community place, the library felt this was fitting. Seeing the Library Board of Trustees and Library Manager are demolishing the room themselves; it was decided to let the fire department utilize it first.

So, we apologize for any rumors making you all worry our beautiful historic library might go up in smoke, but let me reassure you, that is not happening.

Program Room is closed forever...

Over the weekend, Vice President Joshua Nalle, Library Manager Michelle Forward, Ashley Meyers and Jennifer Forward cleaned out the program room to get it ready for the Fire Department to utilize for drills and training before it being torn down forever. All of our programs will now be held at the Municipal Building (fire house) across the street until the completion of the project. Below are two pictures of the now vacant program room.
